Arthroscopic Surgery 2010 is the 31st annual Robert W. Metcalf, MD arthroscopy meeting for a total of 43 seminars which have educated over 15,000 orthopedic surgeons worldwide.  Our 2010 program features practice relevant presentations, shoulder and knee surgery demos and current state-of-the-art ankle, foot and hip arthroscopy. 

ARTHROSCOPIC SURGERY 2010 invites orthopedists world-wide to join us in sensational Sun Valley, Idaho, our #1 favorite ski destination, for the 31st annual seminar of the Robert W. Metcalf Memorial Meeting. Our exciting program features 3 ½ days of exceptional instruction by a distinguished faculty and provides ample time for fun and relaxation.   Our outstanding program includes unique faculty case presentations and allows time for audience interaction and questions for the faculty.  In addition there will be daily Surgery Demos simulcast into the lecture hall and instructional courses in hip, ankle and foot arthroscopy.

Our goal and mission is to provide the highest quality instruction in arthroscopic and reconstructive shoulder and knee surgery with the emphasis on being truly relevant to the practicing orthopedic surgeon.  We will present cutting-edge information while still keeping the focus on helping to solve practical clinical problems.

TARGET AUDIENCE:  This program is designed for physicians and health care providers involved in arthroscopy and minimally invasive surgical procedures of the shoulder, elbow and knee.

OBJECTIVES:
  At the conclusion of this seminar, participants will be able to:

  1. Summarize the important steps of rotator cuff evaluation and repair by arthroscopy. Assess the rationale and technical requirements in repair of capsule and labral injuries in the shoulder.  This will include anterior and posterior instability and multidirectional instability. 
  2. Summarize the rationale of management and technical aspects of repair of SLAP lesions and abnormalities of the biceps tendon.
  3. Participate in live cadaver surgery demonstrations on shoulder repair and replacement as well as knee ligament surgery.
  4. Assess management of multiple shoulder disorders such as adhesive capsulitis, calcific tendinitis, suprascapular neuropathy and degenerative conditions of the shoulder.
  5. Contrast current methods of meniscal tear management and repair approaches.
  6. Select indications for meniscal transplantation.
  7. Receive an update of arthroscopic techniques for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction as well as revision and posterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.
  8. Debate issues concerning graft selection for ligament surgery.
  9. Evaluate the diagnosis and management of chondral injuries including simple debridement as well as autologous chondrocyte implantation and osteoarticular transfer and osteoarticular allografts.
  10. Assess indications for osteotomy as they relate to articular and ligament deficiency.
